She may be one of the smallest dogs we have but Nita is certainly the biggest character! 😍

Nita arrived with us from Bosnia with her mum and 2 sisters. They were older pups on arrival (approx 10 months old) and had lived life as a pack. Nita and her family arrived at the kennels for their trace stay, the kennel staff could not get near her and neither could we for a while. We noticed some worrying signs in her physical behaviour but also her cognitive behaviour which made us think this was worse than just a scared dog.

Shortly after she moved from kennels to a foster home she suffered a mini stroke. We think this was brewing and that's why her behaviour was so extreme. She started to lose the use of her back legs and at that point, we rushed her to the vets who confirmed our suspicions of a mini-stroke. Her foster mum has nursed her back to full health, she has been signed off from the vet and has no neurological symptoms, she's fully healthy, very active and completely nuts!!

She is also extremely loving and knows exactly how to turn on the cuteness when needed!! Nicknamed the land shark Nita is nippy and her first reaction to people is to bark, growl or nip. We aren't sure if this is how she always was or how she is after her mini-stroke. She has learnt to accept people and is so much better and more accepting of our volunteers that she sees regularly.

Nita came with her two sisters and her mum who have all gone home and are doing really well. She has lots of positives! Nita is fantastic on and off lead, her recall Is near perfect. She travels really well. She's incredibly loving and adores belly rubs. She's also house-trained. She is a clever girl and likes to learn tricks and picks them up quickly. She loves to play and to be involved in whatever is going on at home. She loves a cuddle and a fuss.

Nita is based in Worcestershire and will need a few meets before she is ready to go home.
We know it's a big ask and she will be a lot to take on but she is improving all the time and we hope there's someone out there who can understand and love her as much as we do. Nita will need to live with another dog and she may only accept one female owner fully to start with. No children for Nita, she will need a very experienced owner who can continue the work we have done with her.

Adoption donation of Β£250 is required.
