🩵🩵LUKA🩵🩵
Luka is also hoping to find a new forever home. Luka is a 3/4-year-old in-tact male Portuguese Podenco cross. Luka was initially adopted in 2021 and is sadly being returned as his owner is moving in with their partner and Luka does not get on with the other dog. The purpose of this post is to find Luka a home so please do not send negative comments.
Here is Luka in the words of his current adopter:
“He loves humans and is very affectionate to people he trusts.
Luka can live with another docile dog but is very much an alpha and the dominant dog in the home. As a rescue, we feel he may be better off living as an only dog. He makes a great guard dog and barks if there are any noises outside the house. He could also live with children providing they don’t aggravate him. I have a 2.5-year-old boy and he has never reacted to him, but they are never left alone together.
Out on walks, Luka can be unpredictable with other dogs therefore it is advised to keep him on the lead so you can control him. He has a lot of energy and needs at least one big walk a day.
Luka lives with another dog but isn’t always friendly towards other dogs out and about so may be best as an only dog or with a calm, laid-back dog.
Luka was taken to the vet to be neutered but they were unable to locate his testicles. The vet said they might not have descended into the scrotum and he would need an exploratory procedure to locate the testes. However, this was expensive and therefore never happened. If this was done, Luka may be less aggressive towards other dogs.
Luka is not food-motivated and can be a fussy eater. He rarely accepts treats and it has not been possible to train him using food as an incentive.
Luka is a beautiful dog. He needs someone who can address his behavioural issues and give him lots of exercise. Luka would make a delightful and loving addition to any home.”
