💚💚GEORGE💚💚
George arrived with us in September 2021 at 6 months old from Portugal. We knew he was a shy boy and needed some help but we couldn’t resist his timid little face and promised him we would help him be happy. It took a very long time for George to trust us enough to touch him and for him to interact with us. George took the most comfort from his foster friends and the other dogs did a lot of the work for us, bringing George out of his shell.
It also took a couple of years to get George on the lead. He would sit back and watch his foster friends getting ready and heading out the door until one day he decided he was coming too! We will never forget seeing him in the field for the first-ever time in December 2023, watching him run and play. It was at this point, we knew he was ready for more. Since that day George, once the “ghost dog” that was quiet, hiding in between the other dogs, wanting to be unseen, is now a dog that helps other nervous dogs come around, loves a fuss and is confident on lead! He can still be in “ghost mode” from time to time, we turn around and he has crept up behind us waiting patiently for a chin scratch We are so so proud of him. He is still quite hand shy and nervous, especially of new people and in new situations and needs an experienced home that can give George the time and patience to understand that he is safe.
George is such a placid boy and is brilliant with all of the other dogs. He is amazing at showing others that he is no threat. He needs to live with at least one other dog and they will be his main source of comfort whilst he settles. Due to his nervous nature, George is not yet neutered and would be better suited to living with a confident, spayed female.
