A super special lady needing an equally special home. Betsy arrived with us in May 2020 and has been in foster since. We’ve been through a lot together.
Betsy had had a tough life in Romania. She had at least 2 litters of pups that we know of, had always lived outside and wasn’t very trusting of people. We dread to think what this girl has been through💔
After 3 years of rehab, Betsy took her first steps on lead last year, now gets excited to see her volunteer friends and loves to explore the big world, usually first at the door to have her lead popped on 🥰
She enjoys her days out with us, continuing to gain confidence day by day. She never fails to make us proud. Despite her initial nervousness with new people, she has such a funny little personality underneath and will take a huge chunk of our hearts with her. In the home she is wonderful! She’s housetrained and crate trained and has a special skill of finding the comfiest spot before the other dogs do!
She is still nervous of people she doesn’t know and we would like to find her a family with experience of Romanian rescue dogs who understand the trauma of what Betsy may have gone through in the past that has lead to her nervousness.
Betsy is brilliant with all other dogs and we can cat test her if needed. We would like at least one other resident dog in the home as Betsy has never been without a friend. She walks fantastic on lead and her confidence the first half of this year has blossomed.
Betsy needs to live in a calm, adult only home with another dog and will need several meets before she goes home. She is based in Worcestershire and all potential adopters will need to travel to meet her. Betsy is now 7 years old and we can’t wait for the day we see her on her own sofa for the first time ever. It really is the least she deserves. We need someone as special as Betsy to take her home and we won’t give her up easily if we don’t feel it’s right for her.
