From a Wire Box to Saturday Playdates: Twain’s Story

Twain was found in a Romanian kill shelter, crammed in a wire box with his brother. Today he hosts Saturday playdates and unwinds with period dramas in his forever home.

Twain and his brother Twist were found in a kill shelter in Romania, kept in a tiny box of mesh wire with some straw and no room for either of them to move.

After they were brought to safety, Twain spent over a year in UK kennels waiting for the right family to come along. In January 2024, they finally did, and he became our first adoption of the year.

His journey since has been nothing short of amazing. The frightened boy from that wire box is now confident, quirky and full of character. After his family posted a lonely hearts advert on his behalf, he now hosts Saturday morning playdates with his very own gang of friends.

When he’s not socialising, Twain’s favourite pastimes include keeping a watchful eye out for suspicious postmen and white vans, and relaxing in front of his favourite period dramas and Disney films. Absolutely no nonsense or violence allowed.

From a wire box in a kill shelter to Saturday playdates with his own gang. Twain’s happy ending is everything we hope for when a dog comes into our care.
